115 GKC-Funded Build To Be Completed In June, 2015

Gawad Kalinga Canada wishes to thank its donors for its continued support. Your compassion is helping GK realize its vision to end poverty for 5 million Filipino families in 2024. Your donations are now funding the construction of 115 houses for poor families in different provinces in the Philippines including Leyte and Davao which have been impacted by typhoons Haiyan and Pablo. These housing projects are expected to be completed this year.

Your donations are also funding a food livelihood processing program in Los Banos, Laguna and the provision of potable water and a community store in GK Sea Breeze, in Misamis Oriental. The livelihood program was 95% complete as of Jan. 15, 2015. Meanwhile, the potable water and community store projects are set to be completed in April, this year.

The following is a breakdown of the different housing projects targeted for completion this year.  Some of the sites have a brief overview and photos.  You can view them by clicking on the name of the build site.

Meanwhile, a total of five projects supported by donors of Gawad Kalinga Canada have been completed in 2013 and 2014. These include the construction of 32 houses in different areas of the Philippines and the values formation program of 42 youths and young adults residing at the GK Enchanted Village in Angat, Bulacan.
